Quick recap:
We don't seem to like Alison Hammond and Eddie Jordan was the only points-earning death in March.

Some notable deaths this March include:
1st Angie Stone, singer, died aged 63
1st Hazel Dukes, civil rights activist, died aged 92
6th Brian James, guitarist (The Damned), died aged 70
11th Clive Revill, actor, died aged 94
20th Eddie Jordan, mentioned above
20th Eddie James, rapist and killer, executed aged 63
21st George Foreman, boxer and lean mean griller
21st Kitty Dukakis, political figure and author, died aged 88
22nd Andy Peebles, radio DJ, died aged 76
27th Christine McKelvie, Scottish politician, died aged 57
28th Young Scooter, rapper, died aged 39
29th Ken Bruen, Irish writer, died aged 74

Some old terms* for death include:
Turn over the perch
Yield the crow a pudding
Put to bed with a shovel
Slip one’s wind
Hop the twig
Booked by the Gravesend bus
Ride old Charon’s Ferry-boat
Take a blinder
Lay down one’s knife and fork
Climb the golden staircase
Push clouds
Climb the greasy pole

Poll wise, very vaguely remember my mum's uncle dying when I'd have been about 4 or 5.

First celebrity death I remember hearing about was, for some reason, Larry Grayson, when I'd have been 9 or so.

Elvis for me or at a push John Lennon a couple of years later.

I didn't know who either of them were

RIP Richard Chamberlain

(Does anyone remember a French pianist from the 80s called Chamberlain as well? I remember his albums being advertised at Christmas)

My first memory of someone dying was my 18 month old cousin who died of leukaemia when I was 13 ☹
I think the first celebrity I remember was Freddie Mercury as he died the same day as my great gran 👵🏻

The first death I can remember was Marc Bolans. I was 6 or 7 and read it in the newspaper although it was months after he'd died, I think it was talking about his will, or lack of one. I remember feeling sad as I loved watching him on ToTP.

As for Richard Chamberlain I would have put money on him already being dead, The Thorn Birds was a great mini series.

The Thorn Birds wasn't broadcast on Irish telly which pissed my practising Catholic mother right off in the 80s

First major celebrity death I have a recollection of was Michael Jackson, I’m not mega young (late 20s now) but I don’t think I really paid that much attention to the news at the time and when he died it was absolutely everywhere. My parents have told me about how surreal it was when Princess Diana died, people walking into the newsagents for the morning paper and coming out in tears at seeing the news.

I do have a vivid memory of seeing my mum watching the news one night, and the photo of Holly & Jessica being shown, the one where they’re in the Man United shirts

It's scary that people from the 90s/00s are dying now. The music channel did a gone but not forgotten of the 00s and Sarah from Girls Aloud and Darius were on

And several people recently around my age (late 30s) too, which makes me sad.
