I was on the bus today and looked out of the window and I was shocked to see a shop with a full Xmas tree in the window all dressed up with lights etc. Is it me or is it just a bit too early lol? I know shops have had it hard this year but I think this is the earliest I have ever seen. Has anyone else seen one up yet?

If someone has a tree up in September I’d say it’s 50/50 that it’s just been up all year.

Wow.
I love Christmas and get excited that shops are getting the Xmas chocs in a d a few bits but a whole Xmas tree display is too much too soon

Yeah you have to get hallowe’en out the way before it’s socially acceptable to put the tree up.. right.... I go from different extremes. from 1st of November one year to Christmas Eve others, this year I don’t even know if it counts so I’m unsure when I’ll do it. When I put it up too early, the Christmassy festivity feeling peaked too soon so I don’t particularly recommend.

I went to the garden centre at the weekend it was full on Christmas with a small Halloween section. Too early

Once the kids go back to school, shops normally start with Christmas bits.

This year, think we definitely need it!

Funnily enough I saw a house with some fairy lights in the window the other night.

Maybe people are so fed up they are starting festivities earlier than usual?

It's way too early in my opinion. I have bought one Christmas present but there's no way I'd ever put decorations up in September.

If it was a house I’d judge 😂
But shops will have Easter eggs in on December 28th so I’m not shocked 🙃

Mine always goes up first weekend in December. And even then the husband complains it is too early! I do think September is a bit early, although I know shops like to get their stuff out ready to be sold prior to December as by Christmas eve it is normally all gone!

I was surprised to see mince pies and Chrismas puddings in Sainsbury's yesterday! Also quite tempted to buy some, but will try to refrain til at least November. Mind you, I'm drinking gingerbread tea leftover from last Christmas this morning, but it's been so cold recently it felt appropriate! :)

I can understand shops starting early to increase sales but I think decorations at home must get tired looking and become background noise by Christmas if they’re put up before December. I feel like you can get a bit fatigued with all the Christmas music and festivities if you start too early.

I haven’t seen any up yet, but I reckon some people will be so desperate for this year to end, they are putting up Christmas decorations early to make it seem like Christmas and the end of the year is nearly here. To be honest I can’t blame them, 2020 has been a write off!

There seem to be so many little Christmas bits in the shops already this year. I think retail is nervous about sales and hoping to get people in the mood to spend earlier.
