Hate mumsnet and the competitive parenting lark. Is anyone else helping their kid with the entrance exam stuff? She's never done an exam before so slightly nerve wracking bless her.

There are nerve wracking however prepared a child can be. My daughter sat them in 2020 and during the first one almost threw up with the nerves. She did pass them though.

A simple strategy to control panicking during the exam is to answer the questions they def know the answer to first and go back to the ones they need more time to think about.

Prepping my 10yo currently.
We've bought some CGP flash cards for revision & the CGP practice & revision books and are just taking it day by day!

We have an open morning at the school this weekend so I'm hoping that'll settle some of his nerves! When does your daughter sit her exam?

My sons school gave them mock exam papers for 6 weeks leading up to the test (twice a week) they also ran an after school club on Friday’s where they sat past test papers, it was really beneficial , you could see the improvement weekly in their scores…Maybe the school will run something similar? They also took them to the test centre and showed them round beforehand so they knew what to expect.
