I am a very regular user of TikTok. I al also a qualified psychologist who specialises in learning difficulties, stress disorders and social disorders. I have always vowed to myself to never integrate my profession with social media, as it is rather unethical to judge on social media. I am taking a step out of my ethics and practice my commenting this.
I have been aware of Down the rapids since last Christmas, when he did live stream in a tent . Took plenty of donations on where they clearly came from people wanting to help fund a roof over his head, it was of course, just him camping outside. I actually remember someone uploading a video saying he totalled a live stream time on TikTok live of over 72 hours in a month. god knows how much the gifts totalled too
Lots of people will brand people a narcissist, without truly evaluating someone and doing it on a brief overview of the person, or fully considering everything. I am stepping outside of my morality here and something I said I would never do, by saying, this guy is an official narcissist. Not only a narcissist, this stems from a prominent personality disorder. whether it is borderline or some other type it is quite hard to tell when everything shown is filtered to his own liking. This guy hits every diagnostic criteria for narcissism. In fact, I have never seen anyone in person, where I spend sometimes 40 plus hours with a patient, display obvious narcissism as clearly as he does.
I was sceptical to talk, but I saw a video today where he shamed some other creator for “walking around and pretending, doing it just for donations”2 this is what he is doing. I do not have the best photographic memory but you can sift through his videos and most are at the same section of terrain. He says says he’s off somewhere, but you never see that. Anyway back to the point, I raised my eyebrows last year at his live streams in the garden. but now, I’m flabbergasted at how many people cannot see the obvious signs. I bet plenty of view can see the narcissism. If he walked into a psychiatric clinic, if they didnt diagnose him as a narcissist with a personality disorder, its a scam practice. This guy is an opportunist, fraud and im sick of seeing his name.
If anyone here is in a similar profession disagrees, please respond as of course I am only one professional opinion.

A very common trait amongst people who have narcissistic personality disorder is extreme sense of self entitlement and desperate for admiration, whether it be short relief, short relief sometimes tickles that itch for a long period. sometimes long term admiration is happens is so subtle and not enough to fuel the ego, but enough trickles through that they like to maintain that method of seeking validation. It is clearly evident with him that he seeks self admiration and validity for anyone he can, the sheer volume of content posted and the long duration on lives is required for him to feel like he is complete in the mission he intends to get himself admiration. the frequency sometimes stops as people realise and point out that there is a need for an individual to seek validity, there is often a calculated change of plan to deter anyone who may me skeptical, which is exactly true here. Narcissistic people have an extreme desire for success, achievement and admiration. They will use their best qualities to seek out the empathy of others, he is good at climbing, or rather knows it’s an achievable content motive to aid in situations that garner attention. He proclaims his status as a mountaineer, trained in rescue but in these proclamations will often be telltales of inconsistencies. He has videoed himself asking for climbing gear, this is a ploy to seem in need and vulnerable, but forgetting the credulities he’s stated about himself. Where an eagle eye will see this inconsistency it is just another ploy to seem genuine, vulnerable and in need. sometimes narccistic people reveal their true motives softly, in my professional opinion. The gifts, donations and videos sating he doesn’t require financial help is an obvious sign and delivery of his intention. I cannot say for sure, but as this is such a prevalent case I have chosen to give my opinion on his intention.
There is usually a high function and cunning aspect with sufferers. More often that than not channelled through manipulation. He has garnered sympathy of thousands by portraying himself and using fake credibility to build himself up.

To me he has a multitude of issues besides this.
